A group of 12 left the YMCA on Monday morning, July 15, headed for a 2-night backcountry fishing trip. Joe and Ben, guides from the Y, led the trip. We set up base camp at the Finch Lake group site after hiking in from the Finch Lake trailhead in Allenspark. Tuesday morning brought a tough day hike to Upper Hutcheson Lake, by way of Pear Lake. On the return Tuesday, we stopped and fished Middle Hutcheson as well. This was the first 2-night overnight for the YMCA backcountry fishing program, and was a great success in the opinion of those who participated.

If you were on the trip and enjoyed the photos, please send me a note.

Upper Hutcheson Lake. Tough hike through krumholtz, cliffs, and tundra, but the fishing was outstanding, with scenery to match.
